Test driving the 296GTS in Salsomaggiore

On the 16^th of May we were lucky enough to bring some of our wonderful clients on a trip to test drive the 296GTS in the beautiful mountain town of Salsomaggiore.

Day 1 – With a spring in their steps all the clients from dealerships around Europe sat down for a delicious continental breakfast chatting about the day ahead.

After breakfast was done, we all headed down to the reception area where the first lot of drivers headed in for a safety briefing. The Ferrari team covered both the road and track driving event safety features. Those who were first up then headed out to the cars looking like petrol heads dream outside of the hotel reception. And off they went, around the beautiful town and mountain roads to feel what the car would be like on a normal day. While others were out driving the rest of the clients were able to book into a complimentary wine and food tasting course and make use of the spa facilities.

All the groups back and test drives done, everyone headed off to get ready for dinner at the stunning Castello di Tabiano. The castle is set in the gorgeous rolling hills, the perfect setting for such an event. The dinner was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to really mingle and get to chat about everything they had done in the day.

Day 2 – An early start on day two, making sure everyone again enjoys the breakfast buffet before we all made our way to the Varano racetrack. In groups the drivers set off. This time though it was around the track really putting the 296 GTS V6 hybrid engine to the test! The professional drivers at their sides, they really showed them how to get the most out of the cars, even in the rain. The clients also had the chance to have a go at driving the 296 around a large figure of 8 track, trying to gain the number one lap time, however they were only allowed to do this in electric mode!

With a late lunch supplied trackside everyone wound down for the day. Some ready to head home and others onto more adventures around Italy. We had a fantastic time with our wonderful clients, and we hope they did too. We can’t wait to do more with everyone throughout the rest of the year!
