This year Ferrari celebrate its 75th Anniversary, so today we will be looking back at the Tailor Made 70th Anniversary car collection. Specifically the F12berlinetta ‘Lucybelle’.
Let’s first explore the collection as a whole. Unique cars were created during a limited production inspired by 70 of greatest Ferraris of all time. Each of the cars produced were ‘one of one’, marked with an identifying badge, each given its own name and all holding Ferrari Classiche certification. Five of each livery were built on different models. The F12berlinetta, 488 GTB, 488 Spider, GTC4 Lusso and the California T. In total producing 350 vehicles. ‘The Grand Tourer’, ‘The Heartthrob’, ‘The Fangio’, ‘Essence of Ferrari’ and ‘The McQueen’ are just some of the intriguing names given to each car. However lets do a little more of a deep dive into the history of the ‘Lucybelle’.
The F12berlinetta Lucybelle, in a stunning triple layer Bianco Italia Pearlescent paintwork was created to celebrate the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. In 1958 Ed Hugus and his team mate Ray ‘Ernie’ Erikson participated with the 250 TR Lucybelle in the 24 Heures du Mans. Race number 22. With a demanding race ahead Ed and Ray earned the respectable place of 7th overall. The hefty 3 litre front mounted V12 of the 250 TR boasts 300hp with a top speed of 167 mph and a 0-62mph speed of 4 seconds. With its original white body and blue stripes inspired by a yacht with the same colour combination the 70th Anniversary cars certainly play suitable homage to its predecessor. In keeping with the original the Tailor Made Lucybelle still has in place the large number ‘22’ on the bonnet and the sides of the car. The tailor made edition ensures the production only uses the top quality and highest of prestige material which is easily seen with the seating in Jean Aunde Red Fabric and interior lined with nero leather. Finished with Carbon Fibre Driving Zone and Central bridge it truly lives up to its name.
The memory of the Ferrari greats live on is this gorgeous collection of 1 off pieces to commemorate some truly iconic cars inspired for a new generation of collectors and Ferrari lovers alike to admire and enjoy.
